Who We Are
ATA Services, Inc. is an accounting firm specializing in tax and accounting services as well as QuickBooks consulting and training services for individuals and small to medium-sized companies. The firm is not a CPA firm as defined by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
David L. Chapman, CPA
Dave is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University, a former audit manager with Price Waterhouse, and a veteran of the United States Navy. In 1988, after serving ten years as vice-president of an oil and gas accounting services firm, Dave entered private practice which he continued until the formation of ATA Services. Dave is a Certified Public Accountant, an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a QuickBooks instructor at Lone Star College — Tomball, a Certified Sleeter Group QuickBooks Consultant, and a member of Intuit's Accountants Speakers Bureau. Dave is married, has two grown children, and is an active member of Spring Baptist Church.
Alex J. Harrilchak, CPA
Alex is a graduate of Pace University in New York and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1975. He worked as an internal auditor with Texasgulf in New York before joining the Prudential Group where he became the assistant controller, and moved to Houston. Alex joined Investors’ Financial Services in 1982 where he worked with Dave for six years. He left Investors’ Financial Services to become Controller for the W. C. DeArman Companies and later the chief financial officer for American Cascade Energy Co. He eventually started his own accounting practice in 1994, which was later merged into ATA Services, Inc.
Alex is a Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor and is actively involved in QuickBooks consulting and teaching. He enjoys golf and participating in the Bill Glass Prison Ministries. Alex and his wife Vickie are active members of the Encourager Church and have two children.
